To Infinity and Beyond

Good morning, New Orleans!  First stop --beignets.  The line for Cafe DuMonde was down the block.  We got our beignets here instead.  They were delicious!  We enjoyed them while taking in the view of St. Louis Cathedral.

Looks like a castle, doesn't it?

Even the ceilings are awe-inspiring.  Wow.

From here we walked to Cemetary No. 1.  Turns out you can't go in without a tour guide, and the tour guides were too expensive for me.

We enjoyed walking past Bourbon Street.    Didn't stop there.  Walked through the French Market and the Farmer's Market. Cool stuff there.

New Orleans is pretty, but very dirty.  We even walked past a man using a trash can as a urinal!  Ew.

So we only stayed a couple of hours.  Too hot to do any more walking around.  Then headed for:

and the Infinity Science Center.  It wasn't as much fun as it sounded.  We did ride the simulator, and watched some of the 3D star movie.

Making our own fun!  Cassie and Kimmy "float" inside the space shuttle.

The bus tour takes us past a lot of buildings, and by the rocket launch test pads.  This one is huge.

And we did learn what those "buffer zone" signs along the highway are for.  It's a noise buffer for the rocket tests (at least that's their story).
