amazed

last night, cassie and i attended a sitka jazz festival concert.

well, cassie attended the concert, i sat in the lobby as a volunteer to sell t-shirts and cds. i was able to watch arnold perform with the sitka high jazz band, however, and he was amazing!

arnold recently started playing stand-up bass with the jazz band. i had not seen him play (other than to watch him practice at home in his room). i've seen him play the electric bass many times. on the stage, they had a video screen above the bands and multiple cameras taking video from multiple angles. on the close-ups of arnold playing, you could actually see the veins in his arms on the video screen. the intent look on his face, and the precision of his fingers made me want to stand up and shout "THAT'S MY BABY!" he's that good.

to arnold's relief, i did not. i am so very proud of him. just wish he'd get a haircut...

I find it so hard to watch my kids do something well, usually because my eyes are "leaking"!!

The leaking eye thing is an inherited family trait. We get it from Grandpa.

Word verification : dorte (like forte but not)

Is a dorte like a very loud dork?

Those kids never get a hiar cut when you want them to!

I thought haircuts, pants that fit and belts, were part of the wish list of the mother of boys. Oh, and a desire to do homework.
